Li Edelkoort opens her own design gallery in Paris

Trendwatcher Li Edelkoort opens her own design gallery in Paris. Edelkoort Gallery exhibits design as well as arts and crafts. The place will host live events too.

‘After three decades, I have decided to go back to hosting exhibitions and events at my headquarters in Paris,’ Paris based Dutch trendwatcher Li Edelkoort writes on her Trend Tablet blog. On 30, Boulevard Saint Jacques,  the focus will be on design as well as arts and crafts – ‘everything that in my eyes deserves to be shown, collected and cherished at this moment in time, illustrating and reflecting our culture.’

Scheduled are amongst others a Heartwear pop-up shop, as well as the seasonal presentations by Trend Union. But also public debates about the Anti_Fashion movement ‘to trace the progress of innovative fashion systems for the future, and product promotions for brands or organizations close to our philosophy will be encouraged’. There will also be spcae for product presentations of brands promoting a sustanable future.

Together with her partners Philip Fimmano and François Epin, Edelkoort will organize four to five exhibitions a year. These will be curated with a discerning eye on current events and tomorrow’s leading trends. Vintage works will be shown alongside emerging designers and Edelkoorts own design collection.
