What Design Can Do

24-25 May 2018Amsterdam, NLdesign
What Design Can Do is an international event investigating the power of design as an agent for social renewal. At the heart of the event is a two-day conference in the centre of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In 2018 What Design Can Do continues to explore the contribution of design to climate action. WDCD Live Amsterdam on 24 & 25 May 2018 will again be dedicated entirely to the subject bringing together experts form the fields of climate action, design, business and government. The two-day conference returns to the Stadsschouwburg, the city’s main theatre hall where it all started in 2011.

WDCD Live will bring both the closure of the 1st Climate Action Challenge and the launch of the 2nd Climate Action Challenge. The winning projects of the first challenge will present the progress they made during the acceleration phase. At the same time the open call for the second challenge will be announced, this time asking for solutions to help mitigate climate change.

Expect, again, a lot of positivity around this urgent and ponderous issue that needs the ideas of the creative community. Tickets will be available from 15 January 2018.
